Dental Implants

Dental implants restore your smile to its total health and beauty by replacing one or more missing teeth.

At Sean P. Avera, DDS, MS, we use dental implants to provide a permanent restoration for missing or extracted teeth.

Our patients who are missing one or more teeth often benefit from the placement of dental implants. At our Auburn and Grass Valley, CA, periodontal office, we complete the entire restoration process and ensure that you are happy with the look and feel of your smile. Dental implants can give you back your confidence, so contact us today to get started.

Single-Tooth Implants

A single-tooth implant replaces one missing tooth with one dental implant. The implant itself consists of a titanium post placed into the jawbone in the empty space. This post serves as a replacement tooth root, allowing your implant to function just like a natural tooth.

With the post in place, we then fit you for the restoration. For single tooth implants, the restoration is a crown with an abutment used to attach it to the post. The abutment is a connector that allows your crown to fit properly and stay securely in place. With your implant completed, you’ll be able to eat your favorite foods and smile and laugh with confidence.

Implant-Supported Bridges

If you’re missing two or more teeth in a row, Dr. Avera may recommend an implant-supported bridge to restore your smile. Similar to a traditional bridge, an implant-supported bridge uses connected false teeth to fill in the space left by missing teeth. However, with this implant-supported appliance, the bridge connects to implants on either end of the gap rather than neighboring healthy teeth. That way, you can feel secure that your bridge is completely dependable without compromising the health of your adjacent teeth.

Full-Arch Dental Implants

Patients missing all of their teeth along their dental arch may benefit from full-arch dental implants. Unlike traditional dentures or even implant-supported dentures, full-arch dental implants are a permanent restoration solution that won’t slip and doesn’t require sticky adhesives.

Full-arch dental implants use between four and six dental implants to anchor a full-arch prosthetic. Like the other implant restorations we offer, these implants are titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone to give a secure base for your restoration. The restoration itself is a custom-made arch of teeth that will feel natural and look beautiful.

No matter your dental needs, rest assured that your dental implant restoration—whether it’s a crown, bridge, or entire arch—will be custom-made to give you a strong, natural-looking smile. We will work closely with you to make sure that everything feels and functions as it should.
